New ThemeSnap Marketplace Launched!

After many months of hard work and planning, we are happy to announce the launch of the new ThemeSnap marketplace! This new launch of ThemeSnap is more than just a website redesign. It enters us into a whole new market where web designers and developers from all over the world can now submit and sell their own Drupal themes, WordPress themes, HTML and PSD Templates, and more.

However, before I go any further about some of the new marketplace features, I’d like to first say that ThemeSnap is still planning on developing some really nice Drupal themes moving forward. As we scale our resources and products here at ThemeSnap, our goal is to have extra flexibility to build out even better products of our own for the marketplace. We currently have a few really nice products in the works and I’ll post more on those when we get closer to completion.

The New ThemeSnap Author Marketplace

For some time now we have been working with several external designers and developers to bring even more great themes to our customers. WIth the new marketplace in place, we now have an even easier and more seamless way bring about more author products to our growing customer base.

Authors who are interested in submitting their products can now do the following:

  • Sign up for the marketplace as an author and earn a percentage of their products sold.
  • Manage their products through their own, unique author profile.
  • Manage their own author portfolio page.
  • Provide their own channel(s) of support for their submitted products.
  • View their product sales and receive monthly commissions up to 75% of their products sold.

We will be improving the author UI in the coming weeks as we get more signups, feedback, and we discover better ways to improve the marketplace tools for authors and sellers. We have already improved the buying process for buyers. For example, within the new marketplace we are using the Drupal Commerce module connected to Paypal. We have now moved away from, where product downloads were generated from previously whenever a product was purchased.

There’s still a lot of work to be done with customer migration and, I’m sure, we’ll hit a few snags. But please be patient as we work out any kinks with the entire migration of user purchases and other data relating to sales, terms, or products.

We’d love to hear your feedback below on the new ThemeSnap. If you have any concerns, questions, or would just like to provide a recommendation, please leave us a comment. We hope you like the new look! We are looking forward to bringing you more great products in the coming months.
